Early 1923 National Socialist Mitglides-Karte, with a twist...

Hello,

This early membership card for the National Sozialistische Partei Deutsch-Oesterreichs is really special to me. I've been interested in very early Austrian NS history for several years now after learning that the Austrian and Czech DAP (German Workers Party, and National Socialist Parties actually pre-date Germany's DAP and NSDAP, something that Hitler did not like to acknowledge after he gained power.

Many off shoots and splinter groups during this time in Austria and Sudetenland, with the DNSAP the largest. From the stamp at the bottom, it appears that this NSPDOe group has aligned with Hitler's NSDAP by this date, but with the Beer Hall Putsch, things would be put on hold for a while with their German brothers in Munich.

MAP and Erich S., I am glad you find the pieces interesting. MAP, these type of pins were used by several different NS groups, both in Austria and Germany.
Erich, I love the Kampfzeit and read anything I can get my hands on. It's always good to learn something new!

I'll be adding some German Kampfzeit Flyers and Austrian -Pre-Anschluss- NSDAP Posters to my collection soon as I've recently found a good source...
