Early Reich Hitler wall Portrait.

Evening chaps, I picked up this nice early Reich 1933-35 ish period screen printed Fuhrer portrait that has not been touched since being taken down from it's wall in the family home!! ( not my family I may add!!) Difficult to photograph as it is nigh time here at the moment so please excuse any deficiencies! Still in it's original frame, all I did was dust off the glass, A different image from the standard ones so that's why I went for it, a touch smaller than 10x8 ,a nice size. bought directly from Mr Fruth in Austria. Very nice portrait and although Hitler looks kinda peaceful on it, or is it just me to have that impression, but nevertheless I still dont like his face at all.

Franko, I think you have hit the "nail on the head"! Just look at the way the Swastika is presented in a black background and there is a "shining gleam" coming from the direction of said swastika?? Makes you think that the Star of our coming Saviour has been replaced by the swastika and Herr Hitler is in fact the Saviour!! Propaganda as ever at is most iconic best, and disturbingly effective! I agree with you Leon, they really succeeded in that intention on this portrait. Dangerous and quite effective propaganda indeed.

It's well made but I would agree a little digging is worthwhile to confirm it is TR period.

Hi, well i black light tested the backing to the frames and they were fine, but there is no way i am opening them up to test the images themselves, but i have no doubt in my mind that they are 100% good. I have not bought any "duffers" from Franz Fruth over in Austria yet. Leon.

Yes if the backing is fine thats a very good sign
