Paul i know about the SWB and GAB documents that they were signed by the Regiment's commander Franz Grossmehl.
The EK doc is signed by someone named Wilhe but i can't make out the letters underneath the signature so couldn't search for him. If we can decipher the letters we will know his rank and it would be easier to check him out.
The rank looks like Generalleutnant un Div Kdr , the Feldpost nummer looks like 03804 ??
This would be

(Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) 7. Kompanie Infanterie-Regiment 1,
(2.1.1940-27.4.1940) gestrichen, wurde Fp.Nr. 15208 D,
(15.9.1940-31.1.1941) 1. Kompanie Luftwaffen-Bau-Bataillon 3/XIII,
(1.8.1943-23.3.1944) 17.12.1943 1. Kompanie Luftwaffen-Bau-Bataillon 103/XIII (K),
(24.3.1944-6.11.1944) 10.7.1944 4. Kompanie Luftwaffen-Bau-Bataillon 106/VII (K).
Clearly not a unit commanded by a Generalleutnant !! Unusual to see that the document has been written out completely by the signatory , especially if it is someone of such high rank !!
