    Hello,

Would someone be able to assist with retrieving his NARA file from the war period?
Would pay for the service. I have written to the archives in Germany and they only have his post-war material...
    I can pay with pay-pal.

    Thank you,
    Neil

    was there a Waffen-SS unit called " Erg.-Stelle Weichsel (XX) Gotenhafen" ?
Yes. Ergänzungsstelle Weichsel [= Recruiting Office Vistula] (XX) was at Gotenhafen [Gdynia], Adolf-Hitler-Platz 10 - 12.

(There were 21 Ergänzungsstellen of the W-SS within the Reich's borders, numbered consecutively from I to XXI, the numbers corresponding to that of the respective Wehrkreis.)

For files at NARA you might want to contact Marc at Featured Products as he will look and copy the files you need.

If you think your man might have a link to Sonderkommando 1005 then there is a new 2 volume book available on the unit:
Aktion 1005 by Andrej Angrick (ISBN: 978-3835332683)
