Hi, sorry this pic is about as good as it gets. The poster is very large and framed so it is impossible to scan. Taking pics of it is difficult too due to the glass, plus it's location in my collection room.
The artist who designed this poster did several other designs of posters, recruiting leaflets, etc.
Cheers, Ade.
Hey Ade ,
very nice poster!!
Artist name was Frans Van Immerseel if I remember well. I had the same one in my primary collection ; payed 10.000 bf say 250 euro in ...1978.
Frans Van Immerseel was , among other ability's , a well known relief printing artist. Who carved theyre images out of wood or linoleum with chisels. He died the year I bought my poster.
Did he not start out as a cartoonist before the war drawing comics a bit like tin tin, Very striking poster tho Ade.
Rick
Yes Rick , he did. For a news paper called "Gazet Van Antwerpen" ; the "news paper of Antwerp". And he did work with Germans , long before the war on children books.
