Hi Huddyhuddy The way I am reading it does not show it as Being Stadt-werkhaus.
St is the abbreviation for Sankt, Saint in English.
    Stadt is abbreviated as Std.
My partner had a quick look she is Austrian and is pretty good at reading old German handwriting between us we think it says.
    Beruf ...Rechnungsfuhrer. (occupation... accountant)
Wohnort... St Werha, Rn Werha. (town of residence St Werha)
I did a quick search for this place but nothing turns up in germany?
Can you give any more info of where the document comes from? Maybe the place name is the Germanisation of a place of occupation.
one thing for sure though it is for sure not Stadt Werkhaus.
Hope this is a help to you.

    St. means Sankt in german!
Std. is not Stadt but it means Stunde (hour)

Thanks for the document. According to the stamp the nationality is poland. The stamp is then from "17-111 Dubno/Poland". You can search in google maps. But to find the correct place is nearly impossible because the name of his living place is in german and now cities are renamed in polish. You need and old german map before 1945.

Dubno sounds like it Was a bit of an interesting location at the time this document was in use.
Check it out on wikipedia it is now part of Ukraine.
I thought I had the abbreviation for Stadt correct or can it be written as Sdt instead? I'm always interested in improving my German.

Could you please take a look at the bottom left of the photograph and see what the stamp is that is there only on the photograph and not on the actual document itself. Maybe just a picture reused at the time?

Hi Kris. We dont have an abbreviation for Stadt in german language.
Google maps shows 4 places with name Dubno: in Ukraine, in Poland, in Tschechien and in Slowakien. This document is like a passport. The owner had polish nationality. I think people in that time are not multikulti like today and stay near their city of birth. What do you think?
