A happy moment photo.

Article about: I like this photo. It caught my eye and I grabbed it. I like that he is wearing his marksmanship award. Not sure what the writing says, but it looks like 1942? Thanks for looking!

The clue was in her Hat...."Ostern 1942" translates to "Easter 1942"! She's wearing her Easter Bonnet! Nice photo!

I always find looking at these photos if the people involved actually realise whats coming? In a little over 3 years time Germany will be defeated and in ruins, did they both survive?

    A thought provoking photo ...

Thanks William and Paul! I liked it and it is, as Paul said, thought provoking. What happened to these people? That information is lost to the passage of time. I would imagine that in early 1942 they weren't aware of the dark days ahead. I am happy to have this photo in my collection!

And an EK II ribbon as well as another award on his left breast pocket. Possibly an EK I or GAB maybe.

I saw the EK II ribbon, and I wish the other award were visible.
