You could have used google translate, but since I have nothing better to do:
In the name of the Führer
and Colonel Commander of
the Armed Forces
I award
you
Gefreiten(Corporal) Willi Haake,
Stabsbattr. II./W.R.53,(Someone will come along and explain that)
The
Iron Cross 2nd Class
In the field, the 15 July 1942
Unknown signature
Generalmajor u. Div. Kommandeur
(Rank and position)
That's what I make of it, not that google translate is any good, and my German probably isn't either, but someone will probably be along and add some more.
Best Regards
Vegard T.

Looking for militaria from HKB 31./977, HKB 32./977, HKB 38./977 or militaria related to Norway
Thanks for your input,much appreciated.
Hi i believe it was a part of Werfer-Regiment 53 this unit was destroyed at Stalingrad.
It is signed by Fritz Kühlwein (DKiG 19th Jan 1942) who commanded 45 Infanterie-Division. At the time of the citation being awarded they were part of Army Group South, as was Werfer Rgt 53 before they were reassigned to Army Group B (4 Panzerarmee) in August 1942.
Note the use of the letter 'J' where it says 'Jm Felde'.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
BRILLIANT WORK GUYS!! Thanks alot you have all be very helpfull, great detailed information, just what i needed!!
guys i don't want to nit pick, but "Obersten Befehlshabers" translates to: "Supreme Commander".
while true that "Oberst" means "Colonel", "Obersten" is "Ober" (above) with the ending "sten" which roughly is like "-est" in English.
so you have "Highest Commander" or, as we would say it, "Supreme Commander".
Google translate does mess up as we all know. There are some other errors but more minor.
Thanks for that tempelhof, as I said, I used google translate
Best Regards

Yes, I caught that.
You know, personally, I think translations of these documents should all be pinned. They are formatted and the translation is always the same. You just plug in the different names.
This would be a great resource for guys with documents to come to and get an instant translation.
