    "Seinem"; but otherwise spot on.

    This rather ironic dedication translates as: "To his dear Standartenführer, an impression [literally "a painting"] of the efforts in the Italian theater of war."

    The signature appears to be "Bäumler", and he was an Oberstabsingenieur of the Luftwaffe.

    He was being sarcastic and saying that, literally, serving on the Italian Front was "a bed of roses"? I'm sure that his commander could easily have spiced up his tour of duty with a transfer to Russia...
