Default Hitler's directive #1-Conduct of War

    Hi,

I just joined today - was hoping if anyone could help with pointing me in the direction of being able to see an historian? I know this might sound crazy, but I think I have inherited 'Adolf Hitler's Directive No 1 - Conduct of War' - It looks as though it may be a draft copy, as it doesn't have the official stamps and the time of attack (4:45AM) is written in red pencil (it also has been signed by Hilter himself at the bottom).

I've found this website, which provides a translation of the document -
The Avalon Project : Directive No. 1 for the Conduct of the War

I live in London/Hertfordshire and am willing to drive - where would the best place be to go??

The actual document consists of 4 pages - I have uploaded the First page & a close up of the forth page (the signature)

The pictures have been uploaded from a camera phone - I can upload clearer quality ones over the weekend.

Interesting but we'll need much better photos to be able to pass any kind of judgement on the document , how did you come by it ?

    Hi Guys

Spanky, Before running of the see a Histrion, I would take the advice given to you on the Forums.....Post some Clear close up Photos\Scans. esp Of the AH sig---IN 1939 his Sig was confident and free flowing). IMO I dont think this stands much chance of being Orignal.

    I've uploaded some clear photo's.

My dad past away (aged 83) last Christmas and left them to me, he obtained them from a friend - the story that he told me was that a relative of his friend looted a German bunker in Berlin, where other soldiers stole items with visual value he could read German and took important documents.

The only thing i have discovered is the Russian's raided Hitlers bunkers first - but the soldier he said was apparently (German Speaking) English.

I have included a 'photocopy' of a picture which was included with the document - there were also German papers for a lieutenant. I am yet to find the originals to these in my dads things (but I do recall seeing it when i was younger)

    Anyone . . .

I was hoping that someone with good knowledge of the war could give me some feedback regarding this document.

Could someone recommend a good place to take something like this.
