We should remember that A.H. was an artist/painter in his youth
and young adult life - Before WWI - and sold paintings to pay
his rent. Like most, he refined his signature to where he
wanted it, and it was further altered or deteriorated
    over time.

It would also help to see the entire piece.........

Hey if you believe its real then thats all that matters, its a nice family history item with a good story, 100 people can look at it and give an opinion, experts or not there is no 100% gaurentee that its real, you can have it examined to see if its real ink or copied but without being there when it was signed it could have been faked/autopen, signed by his secretary, lord knows, for every 1000 people that think they have a real mickey mantle signed baseball about 800 of them are fake, but I wish I had something like that from my grandpa to show, unfortunatly I dont so be thankful you have a neat little item to help remember him and his service, any chance we can see the whole picture/item?

Well right now my Uncle has the picture since its a family item but we should have it back soon and I'll get some pictures. I only had pictures of the signature. If you're interested it wasn't the only thing he had gotten during WWII. We have German papers from soldiers he got off bodies, the German stick grenades, several large artillery shells, a napalm bomb, .50 cal bullets from his gun on his jeep, P38's and Luger's he got off bodies, pictures of other famous German generals that some are signed, those are just some of the major things. He also had a collection of around 50 rifles and handguns dating from WWII and back. Right now my Uncle has most of his WWII stuff but we have some of the stuff like the papers right now.
