Minty, but I wouldn't bother trying to read it, it's rubbish!

Apparently, it was never sent out to any city, as most of them that did had gold embossed city symbols on their covers. That's an unusual slip cover also. It almost looks more like a shipping cover than the actual presentation copy slip cover, as they generally were in black to match the book's binding and carried no writing on them. Overall, a beautiful condition copy and one that would be difficult to find another like it. Very well found! I'd be more than pleased to own one like this myself.

The cover slip statement might be correct as you stated...as if a shipping cover. In Germany they still do that today...I have several German books(modern) that has a cardboard slip cover very similar close to identical....

My copy of Deutschland Erwacht came with a similar cover way back when.

Good. You got the Kriegs Ausgabe and the Volks Ausgabe, now you'll need the Volks Ausgabe in two volumes, the Tornister Ausgabe, the Jubilaums Ausgabe, the Beamten Ausgabe, the two volumes first edition, etc, etc.
Just kidding Nice addition!
