Nice set. Any chance of seeing the signature on the EK citation? As for your question, being awarded the Close Combat Clasp in Bronze didn't automatically warrant the award of the EK I. I have numerous sets or Soldbucher in my collection where the soldier won the NKSiB and either didn't win the EK I or didn't win the EK I for nearly a year afterwards. In one case I have a soldbuch for someone who won the NKSiS and still didn't get the EK I.

Not necessarily no. I have no idea of the official regulations but there are plenty of examples that show this wasn't the case. The 2 attachments indicate this, one belongs to an NCO in the Großdeutschland Division who was awarded the EK I nearly a year after he won the NKSiB, while the second one is for an NCO in 11 Infanterie Division who won the NKSiS and didn't receive the EK I at all.

Personally, I like this set all the more because the guy in question did not get the EK1.

This is probably because he was in the Staff company, where the opportunity to qualify for the EK1 would have been that bit less than if he was in the actual Grenadier company.
I have a Wehrpass to an NCO in Totenkopf Stug/ Pz Jag Abt Staff company and he also only got the EK2 when he was seconded to the first Stug company in Demjansk, even though he was still with TK Staff at Kursk in '43 and Warsaw in '44 and wounded 3 times.
I think it is sometimes misleading to assume that the EK1 was easy to obtain, given the amount that that were awarded and I guess that these examples just illustrate that this was not the case.

    thanks for all.

    but i read a book.it said:

about ccc: Issued a rule changed from 30.8.1944.

won the NKSis.must examine whether won the ek1,if not,Automatic won it.
won the NKSig must examine whether won the dk,if not,Automatic won it.

about ccc: Issued a rule changed from 8.10.1944:
won the NKSig,Automatic won DK and Enjoy 21 days of special holidays.

sorry about my poor english,i hope you will understand what i said

the soilder won the nksib at 28.9.1944,after the new rule.

But it is interesting that the new rule Does not seem to contain the nksib.Possibly this was the reason which he not won the ek1.

EK1 issue number approximately 800,000,the ccc issue number approximately 36,400.that's why i ask "Why didn't he get ek1 after He has been in the case of close combat clasp".
and ccc's Issuing standard:one of it is Fights with the enemy in the eye cross-eye situation.
I can not imagine how difficult it is.I can not imagine how difficult it is to survive in such 15 fights

    thanks all again
