Nice example. I have one signed by Steiner (in pen) to a member of SS-Art.Rgt 5 and dated just 20 days later then this example.

A few scans of a very large grouping to a pre-war member of the Gestapo who then transferred to the Waffen-SS in 1943 and joined SS-Pz.Grenadier Rgt 2 (later re-numbered '20') of 9th SS-Panzer Division 'Hohenstaufen'. He started out as a member of Landes-Polizei-Gruppe General Göring before joining the Gestapo. The set consists of numerous citations related to police service, the Olympic medal, promotion citations (hand-signed by Reinhard Heydrich and Graf von Helldorf) and letters hand signed by Gustav Gottwald (SS-Führer beim SD-Hauptamt/RSHA) and finance minister Hjalmar Schacht plus SD coursework paperwork and a few odds & ends. But as this is a Panzer themed thread here are his citations and Wehrpass scans for his service in Hohenstaufen.
The PAB Bronze citation is signed by the temporary commander of Hohenstaufen, Thomas Müller, and would of been awarded for the fighting around Tarnopol which was Hohenstaufen's combat debut. The EK II citation is also signed by Thomas Müller while that and the Black Wound Badge citation were awarded during the Normandy campaign. The first photo shows Otto Möller in the uniform of LPG GG.
Love the Max Simon and Thomas Müller signatures !

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

One of my favourites , another document to Fritz Herzig , the Sturmabzeichen , this one is signed by the then Commander of SS Aufk Abt 5 SS Sturmbannfuhrer Otto Paetsche.
Paetsche went on to Command SS Panzer Regt 10 of the Frundsberg Divison and was awarded the Ritterkreuz for the fighting in Normandy and the breakout from the Falaise pocke in the rank of SS Obersturmbannfuhrer. He commanded the Regt at Arnhem and then in Pommerania in 1945 where they were also involved in the fighting at Hagenau and Stettin , he was KIA in the Altdamm bridgehead on 16/3/1945 and was postumously awarded the Eichenlaub and promoted to SS Standartenfuhrer.

Here's one. Stewy
A couple of documents to SS Pz Pi Btl 11 , the combat engineer unit of the SS PanzerGrenadier Divison Nordland.
The first one is signed by SS Brigadefuhrer Joachim Ziegler , Commander of the Nordland Divison and winner of the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub , Ziegler was formerly a Heer General Staff Officer who had been recruited by Felix Steiner as IA of the III SS PanzerKorps , Zeigler took over the Divison in July 1944 after the death in action of Alte Fritz , Swords Winner SS Brigadefuhrer Fritz von Scholz. Zeigler commanded the Divison through the remainder of the Narva combats , in the Kurland pocket , Pommerania and finally in Berlin. Zeigler was Killed in action whilst trying to breakout from Berlin across the Weidendammer Bridge on 2 / 5 / 1945.
The second document is signed by SS Sturmbannfuhrer Hermann Voss the commander of the Btl and a famous Narvakampfer.
Schneider was awarded the EKI and Gold wound badge and promoted to Unterscharfuhrer all for the same action where he lost his leg, amputated at the thigh, 19 years old !!!
He was a typical Nordland soldier an ethnic German from the Banat / Siebenbergen area of Rumania.

The SS Soldbuch is great, yet sad....especially with the death note. He almost made it through the war too.
I havent had the chance to check out the new SS grouping you just posted....
Paul, the Friedrich Herzig documents are Outstanding!!! I was stunned by the 1st one, nevermind the second.
King Tiger battalion Kommander.......It doesnt get much better than that! Wow
