    I use the Das Telefonbuch Deutschland: Telefonauskunft mit Telefonnummern, Adressen und mehr
    If a vet is registered it means that he doesn't mind being contacted and it's ok to try.
    Due to age some have moved with other family members or to a nursing home so it's not 100% guaranteed they will get your letter. It's not guaranteed that they will reply either.

    He is a really nice guy and was very helpful during my correspondance with him regarding his combat on the Ostfront !!
