Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Truly astonishing that men who had such a hard youth can live to such an age.
Greeting Gents:
Here is the sign photo that I received from Herr. Carius from early last year.
To be honest, I was quite sad when I heard the news...
Herr. Carius was the first RKT that I corresponding with, so it really has a significant meaning for myself.
His legend will remain.
Best Regard
Joe

A reply from Ludwig Bauer. Ludwig is one of many who really enjoy the letters and contact between historians/collectors. A wonderful man.
Just received a letter from a good friend in the US who maintained a long and friendly relationship with Hermann Greiner(NJG 1). Unknown to me and to many others I have talked to recently, Hermann Greiner Passed away on September 26/27 at the end of last year. A belated but heartfelt acknowledgement of his passing.
