Requiescat in pace
I corresponded with both at length Heinz about his time at Stalingrad , he was very generous with his memories and info about that time and Günther about his RKT action and leadership of SS Pi Abt 54 at Narwa , both men of course wrote books about their lives at the Front !!

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings

Both men seem to have that 1,000 yard stare of a Heavy combat veteran.
Hi, does anybody know how H. Ruhl is doing? He’s gonna be 100 years old and I’d like to congratulate and send him a bottle of wine. I just don’t know if he’s able to také over his mail. Or even if I have a current address (Last time I sent him a letter five years ago). Can you help me, please?
It is my understanding that Heinrich Ruhl no longer accepts mail in his advanced age and is in assisted care.
Morris
Thx
Hi Salocin, I noticed that you wanted to send a letter asking for G. Halm's autograph. I sent him a letter in German language and he replied without a problem. I don't know how he is with English, but if you wanted, I could translate your letter into German. Just say.
