Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Otto Gunsche - Adolf Hitler's personal adjutant. He was present during the July 20 plot to kill Hitler. He was also one of the occupants of Hitler's bunker - he stood guard outside Hitler's room while Hitler and Eva Braun committed suicide. He was in charge of making sure the bodies were burned.
This is definitely one of my favorite additions!

I visited Remy at his home in Hagen to discuss his RKT action , as a result of that we worked out the exact spot and on our first trip there found some 75mm PAK spent cases !!
Unfortunately by the time i was going to OdR meetings he was no longer attending for certain reasons !!

Hi Paul,
Thanks for sharing your experiences! Did you keep any of the cases?
I received these from a fördernde mitglieder, a lot of about 150 OdR photos in total (Bruchsal 1990 and Koblenz 1991). It also included a letter from Remy, where he explains how he lost his wartime RK. All I can say is he was no stranger to strong language.......
Best regards,
Nick
Hi Nick,
Yes we kept the cases they were on the exact spot of his Kopfstellung . I know what you mean even later in life Remy was not a man who minced his words or was a man to mess with !! I met him after the Siegburg meeting as Hagen was not too far away , same meeting that i met Darges and Gunsche !!
