Hi,
Was this soldiers Soldbuch used towards the end there? there are markings on page 23, but maybe by tracing his units location could verify this or a 'doctored' document?
thank,
Neil

I'm sorry but the quality of the images make this very hard to figure out the details. And you would need to show every page that has an entry on it.
Added better images...I hope...8)
It looks like Stalingrad and Rostov, but it looks to be in pencil and surely the Germans would have written Rostow rather than Rostov.
I c...
Any idea then from the units marked on the various pages close to the dates when he 'was' in Stalingrad or Rostov?
Tnx...
You need to show all pages that have writing an entry on them to be able to get a better picture of when someone was somewhere and with what unit.
Ok, will upload them soon...
Added more images...
Well from what I see he was on leave (Fronturlaub) from 23.12.42 to 4.2.43...and I agree that the penciled "Rostov" should be "Rostow" and looks like a cheap touch-up job. The soldier was in some type of Wirtschaftsabteilung, an economics-related unit from what I can see...
cheers, Glenn
Thanks Glenn for pointing this out...always helps to have an experts opinion
