    German soldier (perhaps gruppenfürer, grfr just beside his name on the obverse of the letter from 16.7.41 ) writing 9 letters to his girlfriend Lotte Shcumacher living in Berkheim, Kr. Esslingen a/N, and later on the 15.10.42 she has married Uffz. W.Müller and became his wife.
    The letters are from the periode: 27.01.41, 16.07.41, 21.07.41, 25.08.41, 23.09.41, 04.2.42, 20.05.42,15.10.42, 13.03.43, and during this period Lotte Schumacker moved from Erbachstr 5 to Ruiterstr. 23.

    On the 15.10.42 his girlfriend changed name and address to, so she got married to Uffz. W.Müller : Frau Lotte Müller, Berkheim, Kr. Esslingen a/N (Württ 6), Ruiterstr. 23
    On the 13.03.43 same address as on the 15.10.42: Frau Lotte Müller, Berkheim, Kr. Esslingen a/N (Württ 6), Ruiterstr. 23

    Grenadier-Regiment 595 was part of the 327. Infanterie-Division

    Found at Axis History Forum: "327. Infanterie-Division was formed Nov 1940 as part of the 13. Welle (wave). It was disbanded Nov 1943 after suffering heavy losses on the Eastern Front. The division staff formed the staff of the 357. Infanterie-Division and the remnants formed Divisions-Gruppe 327 which was assigned to the 340. Infanterie-Divison.

    Area of operations

    Austria (Oct 1940 - Sep 1941)
    France (Sep 1941 - Apr 1943)
    Eastern front, central sector (Apr 1943 - July 1943)
    Eastern front, southern sector (July 1943 - Nov 1943)"

    It took part in the fighting around Zhitomir, Kiev, and Kursk.

    No Gruppenführer here: It says "Gefr." = "Gefreiter", then, as he was promoted, "OGefr." = "Obergefreiter" and finally "Uffz." = "Unteroffzier".
