Hi Neil, Happy New Year to you!

All I can give you is the details for the Feldpost number. As you will already know he was part of "Nord":

    (Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) 14. Reserve-Vorpostenboote d. B. S.O.,

    (28.4.1940-14.9.1940) gestrichen,

    (19.7.1941-14.2.1942) Stab I Gebirgs-Artillerie-Regiment SS-Division Nord.

    (31.7.1942-9.2.1943) Stab I, Stabsbatterie I u. 1.-3. Batterie Gebirgs-Artillerie-Regiment SS-Gebirgs-Division Nord.

    (10.2.1943-23.8.1943) Stab I, Stabsbatterie I u. 1.-3. Batterie SS-Gebirgs-Artillerie-Regiment (Nord),

    (24.8.1943-5.4.1944) 14.2.1944 Stab I u. Einheit Gebirgs-Artillerie-Regiment 6 (6. SS-Division).

Same thing happened to me Neil. I had a train ticket for an SS officer that had been in my collection for ten years and I didn't know much about it. I put it on this forum and within 12 hours, I had the guys name, where he served, that he survived the war, and was buried in England compliments of Paul E. I must add. I love this forum. So much information to learn and so little time. Jay
