Hey guys, anyone ever heard of particular branches stamping pay currency with their unit stamp? Namely SS units?

The short answer is No. This sounds very very dubious to me.
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks Ade...but just to satisfy my curious side can you expand on "The short answer is No"?
I have seen several fakes with SS stamps. In real life such things never existed
Im just wondering if the reason Ade said short answer no is that maybe blocks of reichsmark may have been stamped on top for quick visual reference but as a standard thing not stamped throughout a block...not sure just wondering....
Not sure why they would even think of doing that ?

This is just fantasy, hence the short answer is No. There would be no reason to do this. Other than of course a con man applying a fake SS stamp in order to try and sell a common item for an increased profit when selling to the unwary.
Cheers, Ade.
Have to agree 100% with Ade.
I've also seen common TR paper currency with fake
SS stamps on them to increase their value...........

Steve.
I've collected war-era European currency for many years, and these unit-marked pieces are absolute rubbish. Counter-stamped notes do,indeed, exist in rare instances, such as the Buchenwald notes or the German military currency issued in Greece or the Ionian Islands notes. But specific military unit-marked? NO. William
A picture wpuld be nice.
