Are these women members of the BDM or the National Socialist Party?

Article about: Are these women members of the BDM or the National Socialist Party? Reason why I ask is because of the armbands. I haven't seen them on women before. Thanks!

The woman in the middle (left side, front row) is wearing an NSBO tinnie on her lapel. These NSBO events were held in a few different Gau's in 1933...I have attached one from Gotha.

Most also seem to be wearing an edelweiss with a small NSDAP ribbon attached to the bottom. I've seen these before...but I'm not 100% sure where.

Thanks Chrys! Would it of been common for women to wear armbands at these events do you know?

Absolutely...there are many photos of women wearing these standard NSDAP armbands. It looks to me like these were just pined on these ladies coats for the event they were at.

I'm not saying I'm right...just my opinions based upon what I have seen.

My Great Grandmother was in the BDM, or so people have told me on the forum, and with family.
My apologies for the horrid picture quality, the photo isn't in the best condition.

Hi, These women in the photo are too old for the BDM. Early photo? Pre war? Following BDM came labor service of some kind. Usaually RAD service. The NSBO was absorbed by the DAF in 1935. I do agree with Chrys, as one woman has her band on the wrong side, and she wears a long coat unlike the others jackets. I do not see any RAD brooches on any of these women. On another note, justino, that is a wonderful picture of you g. grandmother. I have a collection of BDM girl I.D. and other photos, But that would be a different thread altogether.

Indeed. Thank you for the compliment!
Is there any thread that is designated to the photos of BDM Girls? Kinda weird if you think of it from a different perspective..

    Warm Regards,

    Justin

I have not seen one here as of yet, but I may just start one. Yes, a strange area of the collected items that came out of the TR. I find them just wonderful.

It would be a good idea for a thread , don't limit it to BDM , but all the ladies of the party . Red cross etc
