He was a fielddoctor in the army. He received 5 days prison as punishment for disobeying orders.

I dont know what role he played in Birkenau, but it seems like he was still in the army and not in the SS, maybe there was a lazaret for wehrmacht soldiers.

    Cheers, Mads

Wow, I've never seen a document like that before! I'd love to have something similar in my collection.

All I can say is that I hope your friend didn't pay too much for this based on the supposed Auschwitz-Birkenau link as the entries for Auschwitz are post-war fakes. The unit entry on Page 12 and the two stamps on Page 5 & 23 are pure fantasy and added post-war by a faker to beef up the price for the unsuspecting/unknowing. In fact the two Auschwitz stamps on Page 5 & 23 have absolutely no reason to be there even if they were genuine.
This soldier was a medic in the Army. The entry dated 16.02.1945 on Page 12 was his final unit - the one below it was probably made using one of those childs printing sets and they have even tried to use the page number as part of the date!

I agree with hucks. The previous entry to the Auschwitz one is dated feb 45, if I remember correctly Auschwitz was liberated in Jan 45, and the entries should be in sequence.

A real shame , the stamps have just been used to sex this one up to increase the value spoilng the doc but ensuring someone has been ripped off !!

Well noted Glenn. It is indeed one of the more common replica/fantasy ink stamps...we know the sort.
