A friend of mine sent me this photograph. No history to it, but she likes it and would like to know a bit more about it. Is there anything apparently obvious to you experts here, that I am missing? (My theory is a little bizarre.)

Looks like interwar Germany by the Stahlhelm on the man in the center, probably a nationalist German group like the Stahlhelm or something. Perhaps related to Schlageter? Albert Leo Schlageter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The reason I thought they were models, is because they are all shirtless
- showing off their physiques, and wearing only their shorts/trunks
for modesty's sake.........

"Schlageter" was also a play, but I think this looks like "Blut und Boden"(Blood and Soil), back to the earth, Völkish type of thing, probably a play of some sort.

Can your friend tell us what's printed in the lower right hand corner?
