Anything on the reverse of the pic.........?
Regards,
Steve.
It was pasted really good into an album and most of the black paper is still on it's reverse. I do notice there is writing on the reverse as you can see some of it peeking out on the photo's border...
The reason I say this, is because it's rather common these
days for unscrupulous sellers of Third Reich photos to
paste reprinted pics onto black construction paper
and then tear them off, making them appear to
have come from a authentic albums..........
Regards,
Steve.
Yes, I know what you mean. The paper was cut around this photo and I removed as much as I could without hurting the photo. You can see period ink/handwriting just barely peeking out on the upper border of the photo. I'm also guessing that if this was a repro others on here would of seen this image before now as it is pretty striking. The photo size is damn tiny too. Would fakers make tiny repro's? What is your opinion?
Most 'personal' pics of the period are printed rather small,
but they sell quite well these days if the subject is of
someone or something that seems important.
The fakers have found another market. They have
intricate ways of duping collectors..........
Regards,
Steve.
What do you think about the two pics above standing next to each other Walkwolf? Notice the ears!
Heydrich's mouth is set firm and straight, and the ears
of your subject appear thicker near the top.........
Regards,
Steve.
