I’m not going to give an actual opinion here one way or another, but I would make some observations.
So Many things Have to be factored in to any assessment of an autograph.
1. What was happening when it was signed
2. What health was the signer in
3. How old was the signer
4. How hurried was the signer
5. What mental state was the signer in
6. Where was it signed
7. Is it a Signature or an Autograph
And the list of factors goes on endless. No one has a cookie cutter exact signature that is the same 10 out of 10 out of 10 times. It’s simply not possible. If they did, it would be a huge red flag. I know that my Own signature has changed Dramatically over the years. Hitler’s long list of varying signatures is a classic example of this.
I do disagree on one point given above, however. In my opinion, about the best a person can do today, is to go online and compare to the enormous number of known examples and make their own conclusions. It is not all that difficult or impossible to weed out the obviously genuine pieces from the spurious -one factor being, of course, is who has the example and what is it written on and for what and where and when was it sold? Obviously, you can discount the silly moderns from the period papers. Use your own common sense. The Internet can be and is an enormous resource when used properly-a resource that would have been a huge assistance had it been in existence years ago.
