Advanced Combat Helmet ( ACH ) in slightly used condition it is devoid of all tags and the stampings in the dome are obscured by strips of Velcro..
I did manage to pull the Velcro back a we bit and remove a bit of contact cement to reveal a small production label in the dome I have found but two other references on line that indicate this type of label can be found in helmets produced by MSA in this time period it is so marked ( S1GVTE-26 and dated to 2007--09-05 )
It is sporting a 2009 dated Ops-Core Headloc retention system and has been upgraded with Team Wendy padding and has been outfitted with a Norotos AKA2 HMA universal low profile shroud ...
The private purchase NVG bungeeā€™s that attach to the front ballistic bolts were a great idea that are seldom seen in actual use compared to the Rail incorporated type..
It has seen a fair bit of service and has been overpainted at least twice in its service career as there are remnants of velcro strips on the exterior of the helmet body that have been painted over...

    So, about those berets....

....you know when you're sitting at an auction and a Lot comes up and you think "surely they should fetch more than that......"

    Well.......ta-daaah!

I don't collect 'em, I don't know anything about them........apart from the colour...and the country....and the maker for one, and the badges are different...oh, and there's sand in one of them.

I'd like to be told the following please:-

    - they are massiveley rare and an important part of GW history
    - that they were worn by the most senior military personnel (albeit they were the "baddies"....but "we" seem to like "baddies" here)
    - that they are worth thousand of pounds

    :-)

Hey, at least this'll put something...just anything into the New Posts list that isn't TR.......but it'll fall into oblivion...never to be seen or read again, whilst posts about a POSSIBLE German WW2 (potentially) screw, which is SAID to have held the hinge on a door of the Reich Chancellery, well, I say that but it was actually a building that LOOKED like the Chancellery....from a distance, when one squints...a lot...on a foggy day...OK OK it came from a Toilet door in a Shopping Mall in near Nurenmberg.....but that's where it all started right?....and it could've been re-used after the war right?.....well, anyway, I saw one at the Max Show...well, I say I saw it, a mate told me that there were doors at the Max show......it might not've been the Max Show...but it's definitely the sort of screw that was used during the war.........and Hitler once went shopping (not at the Max Show obvs).....but he difinitely opened a door once...well, walked through a door.........provenance sorted!
