    Late 70's early 80's you could buy a pair of these for about $12 at the local surplus stores.
    I had a couple pairs.

    mesh Poron insoles are to keep your feet dryish
    the spike protective plate is in the molded outer sole (can't see it can't remove it, if you see it your boots are wore out)
