Default Exciting dagger find from Finnish Lappland

This field (?) made dagger was found sewn into the sleeve of a German greatcoat. Sadly very little remained of he coat itself (all markings had been removed) as it was found in fallen over barn. I understand part of this item is made from a Swedish rifle but what I don´t know is what kind of bayo the blade belongs to.. The length of the whole piece is 21,7 cms.

Another exciting item added to my collection of misc war relics

    Cheers Jan

I'm not sure but maybe it is a POW camp made item? Never seen anything like it before. Or just unfinished POW camp dagger?

Yes I think that´s one real possibility. It has the appeal of a "survival" or jail made object. The interesting connection is the German greatcoat in which it was found. Wish it could tell it´s story..

Could this be a blade from a Swedish M1896 bayonet??

    Sweden - m/1896

Sweden did supply the Finish army with some M1896 Mauser rifle's prior to and during WW2.
If you are going to use the M1896 bolt handle to make a knife, why not use the bayonet blade also!!!

Are You sure the blade is factory made at all? I have seen some POW camp made knives from 1940-ies to 1990-ies and Your dagger remembers me these items.
