Hello Barney,
An interesting item.
I'm not seeing anything that jumps out as trench art. Perhaps a custom made item to suit a member of the movement who was a veteran. The Nordic style Hakenkreuz could be related to the SA or the Thule Gesellschaft. I know almost nothing about cuckoo clocks besides many are made in Schwarzwald (the Black Forest).
Have you been able to date the clock?
Yes, I agree with the Chris. Probably not war time, but possibly 1920's or 1930's and either a modified clock done by or for a WW1 veteran.
The round 'swastika' under the eagle is the symbol of the Deutscher Turnerbund
GREAT piece of art I like it very much
The only thing I can say is it has a lot of age and would most likely have been carved during the 3rd Reich era. They used an old clock and case and carved a pediment and front shield.
Like it - does the bird say "Sieg Heil"???

It looks like a year on the iron cross, 1935? Hard to tell.
