    Got this ring with a lot of other bits from a german estate sale from an x wehrmacht home.

    Any help apprecitaed, im guessing trench art?? seen one before or imiliar?

    Loks like made from a jubilee clip type bracket ha ha very light, maybe alim or tin?

    Yes, it is,indeed, trench art. It looks to be made of heavy aluminum-could have started life out as any number of things, though, so impossible to ascribe a definite origin. A shell case, would be my first guess. A neat thing, though, and a nice little find!

    Nice ring you see these made from crashed aircraft ,flare gun ammo and a number of other things

    Makes me think of the top of a canteen, cut off and ground down.

    Typical german WWI trench art.

    It remembers also more WWI trench art ring to me. The material (aluminium) was often from the shot down airplanes but of course other available metal was used too.

    Aluminium was a relatively rare pre-WWII , being expensive and difficult to manufacture .
    It was used extensively in the aircraft industry and some weapons production .
    You'll find it used in Theatre made knives , trench art etc . Due in part to it's rarity at the time .
