I would have thought that a repro would be 'spiced' up more with SS and Swaztikas on it. The fact that it isn't covered with them makes me believe it is original ( after all they were a 'gift' from the slavs )

Looks good to mee too but... I have not ever heard that there are repro Wolchow stocks on the market but if You will have a lot of time, wood and knife... I belive after 3-4 years it is already impossible to say what is original and what is not.

Well, some photos I have seen on the internet show sticks with no traces of age at all. Besides, as you said it can be easily faked. Pretty sure that there will be guys in Russia who are willing to spend their time on them.

One of the reasons I love trench art is that prices are still low and there are no such people any more who have enought skills to fake a cigarette case or Wolchow stock for 5-10 euros. Making a good item takes several days. So I'm pretty sure this item is real. But - never say never!
