1937 dated K98 pouch - Unit marked?

Hello everyone! To start off I hope all of you lads/lasses are having a great start of the holiday seasons! Now down to the reason I am making this post. I have no idea where to begin with this marking I have never come across in a k98 ammo pouch before. So I was hoping some one here could put some insight on what it may be, Pictures below.

More detailed photos will be posted of the other markings once it arrives at my house. Got it from one of my good friends.

Marking is: 1./M.G. 35.

you're right, it's a unit mark on your early pouch. A little link for this unit:

In 1937, this unit was part of the 5. Infanterie Division:
5. Infanterie-Division (Wehrmacht)
