Hi Guys, I picked up these binoculars a few years ago from a car boot sale for £25. One of the very few items I have found at these kind of events. Never had much luck there. The optics are nice and clear. There was no case with them sadly.

I just checked the newly pinned thread on serial numbers of Carl Ziess' products and I have discovered these were made in 1940.

    Cheers, Ade.

Ade you can still get some bargains at places like this, i picked up a pair of 6x30 in sand colour in Oxfam minus case and strap for £4, optics are perfect.

    Hello,
That's a very decent early pair of 6x30 binos...congrats......and the price was a bargain. All my binos are marked with a letter code...not that early...
    Thanks

I have the same but maybe slightly earlier, I think the frames are brass, or maybe a goldish anodized aluminum coming through? Impossible to tell what my Waffenampts are but they must be the same as yours, WaA202 it looks like? Don't remember where I got them or how much I paid for them but I remember them being right around 1939 vintage. Pics will have to wait for daylight.

Edit, just noticed the date of the original post... ;-)
