Re: Afrikakorps field phone
Why do you say its a Afrikakorps field telephone?

Re: Afrikakorps field phone
Because the sand colour was typically for DAK equipments.

Re: Afrikakorps field phone
The ordanance tan colour was used extensively after 1943 for all equipment and all arms of service....so not necessarily Afrika Korps....
Looks like your phone is dated 1944, so a bit late
I do like the tan colour on this one though

Re: Afrikakorps field phone
From 1941 until to the capitulation of DAK in May 1943 this tan (sand) colour as I wrote was typically and uniquely used in Afrika. After 1943 this tan coloured equipments were used in a whole Europe, as you wrote, in this you have right. Apropos, the phone is dated 1941 , same like the headphone, so it is not a bit late, and could be used in the fronts of Africa.

Re: Afrikakorps field phone
Good original item.
Afrikakorps yellow paint was typically a more pink/brown shade than that of the universal "Dunklegelb" introduced in 1943. It looks fine to me.
Cheers, Ade.
