No quibbles on this one! A fine original and very seldom seen or available. A nice find indeed! Where is the mothing,by the way? From the description, I expected to see black cheese cloth!
(You've got more guts than I would have-unbuckling that dry leather neck band!)

No mothing at all except a tiny, tiny tear or 1 nip on facing. It was the other canteen I was shown. This one had a pristine cover. Funny you brought up unbuckling. I did not unbuckle the neck band as there is a good tear in it and I was afraid I was going to break it. It took me about 10 minutes but I was able to slide the whole leather harness off the neck as one piece. Whew!

We think alike. Almost got shingles over it

Great pick up Bro.Its nice to actually be able to see it. This viewing on a tablet is really becoming quite bothersome. I can't wait to get back to Yuma and see the quality items you guys have been posting.
