Allgemeine SS Canteen? 1935 vintage?

Maby it is my computer, but I doubt it! That cover is dark blue = Luftwaffe, Not black.
In other words I think the cover is not native to that canteen.
I have a late 30s Lw canteen and the cover is about identical except that mine is marked. If I remember right my straps are also marked. Picked it up at the flea market at Beltring several years ago.

Hey Sarge,

She is definitely black as I have it here in my hands. I have seen the blue luftwaffe ones in my past travels and this is the original wool cover in black. I took a picture with it next to a black pair of leather gloves and black boots for reference. Could have been lighting I was using in original pictures.

Agreed, and I think this image shows that.
Not unlike the black uniforms, many times the tone of the material can be deceptive when shown in photographs alone.
