It is almost impossible to say is it original or not. I mean the writing, not the box.

An interesting one , if the writing is contemporary it was done by someone with a very good knowledge of the Waffen SS , SS Totenkopf Standarte 11 was used to form SS Infanterie Regt 11 which served as part of Das Reich during Barbarrosa until being disbanded and assimilated by other Das Reich units in late 1941 , i would have thought a faker would have just picked one of the better known SS Units to scrawl on the box , but who knows ................ !!

Presumably because the Tac symbol is for Das Reich !!

A friend of mine tell me there is a lot of "artists" in France for this kind of work. So, in 2012, it is very hard to find such item. We have not the "story in Normandy"...
In France we say AOC Normandy, meaning the piece is 1000 % original...For selling!

I can not say it is the real thing and I can not say it is not. So I better do not say anything. Personally I would not buy it but it is just my "feeling". I just do not like the script and markings.
