Is it late war Artillery Rucksack or M44 Sturmgepack ?
It looks like inner bag is missing or was it never there ?
Thanks !

Morning George Imo it is a late war manufactured (Rucksack für Artillerie) it does look from your photos that it is constructed from water proof canvas which is very similar to zeltbahn material by chance are the dimensions 14 1/2" tall, 11 3/4" wide and 4 3/4" thick

I thought so as it is really simple and m44 has more boxy look.
It looks identical to one I had in my collection that was manufacture marked and date stamped 1944.
Regards Mark K
Am I right assuming that it no longer had zelt straps ?
Also was the inner bag removed or was it eliminated ?
Thanks
Hello,
It is the Rucksack that was meant to replace the A-frame in 1944/45...
IMO when an example is as much saboted as that it looses its interest...
Thanks

You mean the lack of inner pouch and zelt straps ?

Thanks for the feedback.
I got it for $27 so I guess it was a decent deal .
Hello George,
As a collector, i perfectly understand that the price paid for an item is an important thing, but IMO you have to remember something that is more important : as collectors, we buy items, not prices...even if $27 is peanuts for a TR german Rucksack...i know that some members may think that i'm a quite senile chatterbox as i repeat the same thing again and again, but IMO, better quality than quantity, unless you can afford both...
Thanks
