Barrel Muzzle Cap for K98 ?

Hi Forum
I have just got hold of this Barrel Muzzle Cap, I guess it is for the K98, it is made of hard plastic. Am I right ?

Yes for the K98 stops dirt getting into the barrel , they also do them for most other German small arms

Thank you for your info, I think they are a bit "rare" the soldiers must have throwen them away, not having time to put them on and off

Not too hard to locate. I have 3 or 4 of them. NH

They go rock hard with age. If you soak one in warm water for a while it will become pliable enough to put on a barrel.

As Mark says but watch out - I soaked one in hot water to fit a mg42 muzzle and it locked on!!!
You have to soak it again to remove it.
