    Hi,

I picked this up at the last militaria fair I went to. I'm told its an 1870 Bavarian pipe. Is that the case? Does anyone have any information I can refer to? It is marked "Bruyere Garantie" and I see some images of similar pipes when I type that into Google.

    Much appreciated,

    Nick

"Bruyere Garantie" is French for the wood it is made of.
No militaria object. And probably made in the Elzas when it was French.

Nice German Tyrolean type pipe Czech had a similar made one age I don't know about I have a similar one bought from Germany several years ago. Nice pipe though not anything fitting a military role civilian use or a soldat could have used it. timothy

I have a similar pipe that has been posted here previously. By no means are these military issue but they certainly are appropriate for period Soldat impressions. Mine is not marked and looks to be hand made and not mass manufactured. This one is great for GJ collectors since it has a Gamsbock device on the bowl. You may wish to restore the tassels on the bowl retainer like mine - just a suggestion. NH

Pipe jokes aside (as funny as they are), is it really 1870?
