Seriously though, is the eagle under the glaze coating? It looks fine to my untrained eye.

The shape looks good for the 1930's. Have you a side shot of the handle? In this era sometimes the trade mark on the base will be under glaze whereas the logo on the front will be a type of screen printed over glaze which can suffer from wear and scratching.

Thanks both for you input. I will take a few more detailed photos with better lighting. The logo on the front is suffering a pit (chipping of the paint). The eagle on the bottom always look a bit "goofy" to me. The wings are not straight and the hakenkreuz is off. Still, if it is an original, that's good news.
