Hi Neil, I have moved your thread here from the Paperwork forum in order for you to try and get an answer to your question.

Hilter silverware items are a study in their own right and it is not a subject I am at all versed in. So I cannot help you much. I have seen patterns with an eagle and the "AH" initials. I do know there are "formal" and "informal" patterns.

But I am sure that forum members Robin and Vid might have some knowledge in this specialised area of collecting. If they don't see this thread drop them a PM.

    Cheerrs, Ade.

Neil, when it come's to AH sliver one must remember that he was the leader of a nation and had many many place setttings, some for dinners of up to 200. I have seen a lot of his sliver over the years. Both good and bad and this one is unknown to me, I seem to remember a hotel in Ausburg at that time useing the AH.The only 2 books I know on the subject have been out of print for years, I have them both thay were written by Dr.MARK D.Griffth. He show most of the know patterns of sliver all have eagle and swaz, there is on a set from the Berghof with the AH with curved block letters marked Wellner and the edges have a design on them, yours looks to plain. I have heard that Dr Griffth may be out with new book soon with new info. From what you have it does look like the ones know to date.

Hope I was of some help?

    Good Luck, Darrell.

I must agree that the engraving on this spoon is not of the quality one would expect to find on a set of silver used by Hitler. It also does not match any known official pattern .

The Greek Key is the most used type of the types used by Hitler and this was used for State Dinner's with up to 200.
