I've checked, but it doesn't seem like spanish. It would make sense though, because volunteers from Croatia were in Spanish civil war.

My first thought when I saw it is Swiss. However most Swiss stuff has the cross on it so ???

My first thoughts exactly! Swiss was first thing I checked, but still no. Colombian ammo pouch has something in common with this one, but still...
Yes it does kinda have the Swiss look. Maybe early JNA or something? They used the brass parts a lot.
Early JNA first used german pouches and then had almost the same as WW2 german, only brown and witout markings.
Possibly pre-1918 Russian - reused by one of the nations after WWI ?
