Das Reich Kubelwagen's Shovel with Markings
Greetings, everyone.
I recently acquired this beautiful shovel that I suspect is a Kubelwagen shovel. (would love confirmation on this)
I found it in a french police station where it has been in service during at least the last 20 years and no one knows anything about the markings.
The markings on the handle seem to be of either the SS. 2nd Panzer Division Das Reich, or the SS Panzergrenadier Division Polizei.
Now, I suspect them to be more of Das Reich, but I have no clue if they are standardized that way, on shovels, if it's genuine, but I think it definitely is a real German field used shovel.
I'd like any bit of information, how common they are, if you think its real or not, I'll leave that to you.
Thanks everyone.
(For comparison of size, this is a mauser bayonnet

Welcome to the forum , I hope you enjoy your time here .
I would think a caved Divisional Emblem would be highly unlikely .

I agree with Chris.
This shovel could have had any purpose, maybe on a vehicle- maybe not.
The symbol could have been added at any time for any reason. This is not how Wehrmacht or SS equipment was unit marked.
