This looks to be a cast iron plate. I have not seen one before, so have no idea what to look for. Should there be a makers mark somewhere? I am pretty sure paint is post war. What sort of value would you place on it, assuming it is original?

Rust looks like been made artificialy and the eagle looks like a chicken, I think it is new.

It does look like a chicken im afraid.
I dont think the germans would produce a bad quality sign like this one.
