Do you have a picture of the top?
To be honest, this looks like a repro label on a post war battery.... But i could be mistaken of course
Tom
Originals of these are quite hard to find ; there are many reproductions out there and I have to say that the label on this one looks suspiciously 'clean'. Genuine originals now often cost more than the FF33s themselves......
Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply I am also suspicious of the label not being period, but one seller / dealer has told they are genuine.
F33 FIELD TELEPHONE BATTERY. (Batterie für Feldfernsprecher 33) The Feldfernsprecher 33, (Field Telephone 33), was the standard issue field telephone used by the German military during WWII. The induction magneto F33 telephone was powered by a 1.5 volt dry cell battery. 11cm tall, 5.5cm square, molded brown bakelite construction, 1.5 volt dry cell battery for the F33 field telephone. Battery has dual attachment wires and two open recharging ports to top and white paper labels with black printed script to all four sides. Label to the front of the battery includes a large printed national eagle, model designation, "ELL nach DIN VDE 1210 VDE 0807 X 39", script, "Behörden-Ausführung und Eigentum", (Government-Execution and Property) followed by an inkstamped waffen-amt mark. Script to the additional labels includes, shipping, storage and operation instructions, manufacturers name and address, "Otto Gross Hamburger Batterie-Fabrik", and inkstamped date, "5. IX. 1943". Nice F33 accessory.
Hi
IMHO the one you show is not a german ww2 ff33 battery.... I'm not a specialist in batteries, but the ones I know (and have) all have the screw on top.... you can see them on the following 2 pictures... 2 different makers, but same battery configuration.....
Tom
I suppose it's a battery with the same size that the German, with new stickers....
BUT I know you can find 100% fakes, new ones, made in CZ or Poland.
