This is my first post so here we go. I got this shovel a few weeks ago I was hoping if some one could tell me if it was made in Germany or one of the occupied country's.
It's got a maker mark of VBW WaA stamped 721 or 727. It's stamped on the handle and been crossed out and been painted green and removed.

    Hello Graham

First, welcome to the forum !!

You have an original Klappspaten made by VBW (Vereinigte Beckersche Werkzeugfabriken) .. The german firm still exists today (vbw.de)

The green paint is probably Norwegian (post war) applied
