Hello,
beyond the problem of the front edge, there are other features that allow to recognize a german from a dutch tool, like the shape of the blade or the shape of the three grooves on the blade...
This folding shovel is WWII german, no problem with it.
I've seen german tools that had the front edge at different angles, from very pronounced to barely visible...but dutch ones are always flat...
